What matters is that the emotion you show is the emotion you feel. A sincere laugh is contagious; a sincere tear is sacred. The problem arises when we perform feelings to meet expectations. That performance drains us and confuses others. Sincerity replenishes because it removes the burden of pretending. It says: what you see is what is real right now, and that is enough. In a world that constantly asks you to optimize your image, choosing sincerity is a quiet rebellion. It is also the most restful way to live.
